2. Collaborative Problem solving
Professional nursing practice is advanced by engaging in reflective discussions that occur during participatory learning activities.
Facilitated small group discussions (scribes at each table)
Shared knowledge/experience (everyone participates)
Strategized solutions (report out 1-2 examples from each group)
Continued conversations after the annual meeting (written summaries on listserv)
STUDIES SHOW: Nurses learn from other nurses. Social interactions with colleagues are a source of practice knowledge, equal to experiential knowledge, documentation, research, or schooling.

Here are just a couple of the studies that discuss how we use social interactions in the workplace. In college health, many of us don’t have nurse colleagues we can easily call upon. We look forward to the annual meeting so we can exchange ideas, and problem solve, and share best practices.

4. Learning Objectives After this session, attendees should be able to:
Discuss innovative strategies for delivering care in college campus settings.
Identify at least one resource you can use to problem solve with colleagues.
Describe at least one change you could make on your campus to improve an administrative issue or clinical practice.

We hope you’ll have AT LEAST one good take-away today. If you don’t get to discuss all your concerns this morning, please be sure to exchange cards with others at your table so you can call or after the meeting. We’ll be posting all your summaries to the listserv, like we did last year, to encourage further conversation. NOW, please choose a facilitator and scribe, if you haven’t already. We’ll have minutes for discussion, then brief out ONE idea from each table if there’s time. I’ll share the resource slides now in case we don’t have time at the end.
