1
Golgi apparatus Jermaine and Bianca
2
What is the Golgi apparatus
Important part of the eukaryotic cell Transfers proteins and lipids In closed by the eukaryotic cell (contain a nucleus and other structures: endoplasmic reticulum (ER), Golgi Apparatus, and lysosomes) In other words the processing center
3
The process in which the proteins travel
From the endoplasmic reticulum To the Golgi apparatus Then out the eukaryotic cell
4
Explaining the parts Cisternae – sacks or folds (usually 5-8 sacks or folds) Cis face – the entry face (proteins enter) Trans face – the exit face (proteins exit) Incoming transport vesicle – the transport to come in the Golgi (proteins) Secretory vesicle – the transport out of the Golgi (proteins) Lumen – in tissue or in cell (holds the negative charge)
5
summary What it does How it obtains what it needs What it gets rid of
The parts Wrap it together
