The UB develops all the activities related to the research in Europe through the International Research Projects Unit (OPIR). Fundació Bosch i Gimpera de la Universitat de Barcelona (FBG) In FP7 projects, FBG is considered as a third party of the UB, but not covered by Special Clause 10, since it doesnt perform any scientific or technical work in the projects. The FBG is a foundation integrated and controlled by the UB, and its not a subcontractor, since it belongs to the UB Group. The Financial Management Section of the OPIR is in charge of the post-award assistance for EC programmes (and others). Management model and procedure: FBG

5. Agility: the payment and transfer deadlines (to partners, etc.) are faster if theyre done by a Foundation than by a public administration. Why a UB Foundation is in charge of the european projects management? Staff specialization: people in charge of work can be selected under different rules that the ones imposed to a public administration. Their salaries can also be adapted to its knowledge and the development of its tasks. Less bureaucracy: a Foundation can develop its own procedures following functional criteria.
