1. Who is Arturo? “An Hour with Abuelo”
Students will read “An Hour with Abuelo” from the Holt Elements of Literature Textbook, and create a stick figure based on the character, Abuelo.
Follow the directions below to complete the activity.
You will read the selection text “An Hour with Abuelo” from the Holt Elements of Literature Textbook.
As you read the selection, write notes from the story that reveal aspects of Arturo’s character.
Review the rubric provided for the assignment in order to ensure that you have covered all aspects of the assignment.
Open Write Smart software on your assigned computer and select the Stick Figure Analysis PDF. Complete the components on the PDF by filling in your analysis of Arturo’s character traits. Be sure to provide the text- based evidence.
Once complete, you will print the PDF and turn it in with the rubric for final assessment.
