After I got hit in the head with a baseball, my memories of the day became nebulous. The malevolent presence in the house wished harm upon all who entered. Regina tried listening to his neighbor’s story, but the vapid man quickly lost his interest. Finding out that I was selected to represent my school at a coveted event was certainly an auspicious beginning to the week. The abominable smell that occasionally pervades the hallways is known as the Dunbar Funk. I didn’t talk back as a teenager because my mother would quickly and harshly quell such behavior. Zach wanted to avoid his annoying cousin, but his evasion was futile; his cousin found him anyway. A feeling of melancholy settled over the room as they heard the bad news.
