Intro to Zentangles The term “Zentangle” was first coined by Rick Roberts and Maria Thomas Maria noticed feelings of timelessness, freedom, well being, and complete focus on what she was doing with no worry about anything else, similar to meditation Using LINE, shape and space to create ‘doodles’ or patterns in a defined space/shape

Getting Started… Zentangles
Start with a border (e.g. square, rectangle, circle…) Use lines &/or shapes to divide the space into sections Use line, shape & pattern (‘Zentangles’) to fill spaces

Zentangles & Seasonal Symbols
Create: Sketch or Brainstorm some ideas for symbols (simple shapes) that represent the season to you Choose one seasonal symbol, and draw it right over top of finished patterns, considering use of space Use colour for emphasis to complete your seasonal symbol
