Department of Economic Development & Transportation Background In 2001, Honourable Ron Irwin, Canadian Consul General in Boston, proposed an economic and cultural promotion project for 2004 Work began on staging Nunavut Collection from Prince of Wales Museum in Yellowknife at Peabody Essex Museum This would be the first exhibition of the collection outside Canada
