Finish and Display: Examples:
Go over the basic rules for mixing secondary colors from primary colors, for example ask them what they will get if they mix blue and yellow, and so on. Tell the students they are to paint a landscape with “surprising” colors. The sky should not be blue, but any other color will do. The grass could be purple; the water could be pink, and so on. Make sure that they fill their entire page with color in their scene. Make sure they understand they are mixing colors and using the white, if desired, to lighten or tint the primary and secondary colors they have mixed. Sign their name on front When their artwork is completed have them put in a safe place to dry. Finish and Display: Once the artwork is dry, volunteers can mount their work to 9” x 12” Glue artist blurb on the back of construction paper Hang outside classroom. Examples: Revised August 2014
