2. THE SOUTHWEST Desert modern day Arizona and New Mexico
groups became known as the Pueblo peoples
They lived in pueblos built on mesas (on the sides of steep canyons). They were built from adobe bricks of clay and straw.
Navajo, another Southwest group, led mainly nomadic lives, but learned to adapt to the desert climate.
