13 Vocabulary Over the next six weeks we will be studying the region of East Asia. This region is incredibly rich in both history and culture. For us to fully appreciate what we are going to study we must become familiar with the following vocabulary terms.

14 Economy The relationship between buyers and sellers within a region.

15 GDP per capita Value of all things created in a country divided by the population.

16 Command Economy Supply and demand is controlled by the government.

17 Market Economy Prices are established by buyers and sellers.

18 Communism A country with a command economy where the government owns and controls everything.

19 Capitalism A country with a market economy that allows individuals to own property.

20 Propaganda Information that only encourages one way of thinking (it is biased).
