Describes a set of statistical data in terms of: identifying dimensions attributes improving data description Example of DSD from NAWWE CDCs are concepts almost always used in the same way in existing DSDs examples: Frequency, time, country April 2007

5 Metadata Structure Definition
Describes organisation of a set of metadata Example of a MSD CDC identifies concepts to be exchanged Codelists Examples: Statistical concept, scope/coverage April 2007
