2. What you need to produce
An overview of what the poem is about – where we can see power and conflict
Some context on the poem – why was it written, what was happening at the time it was written etc
1 activity for students to complete why you are teaching the poem
1 annotated copy of the poem for me to photocopy.
Must include 5 language devices and 4 structural devices and how they show power and conflict
1 PEEL paragraph for all students to write in their books – you will explain this PEEL to them.
Must include:
A point that explains the type of power and conflict in the poem
A concise piece of evidence
3 layers of analysis –
an explanation of how the poem explores power and conflict;
language and structural analysis;
a second quote;
context.
Audience – how do we feel as a result of the power and conflict presented.
