PROACT-4 Trial design: Patients enroute to the hospital with acute chest pain were randomized to point of care troponin testing (n = 305) vs. usual care (n = 296). Results (p = 0.074) Time from first medical contact to final disposition in the emergency department: 8.9 hours in the point of care group vs. 9.1 hours in the usual care group (p = 0.074) All-cause death: 1.3% for point of care vs. 1.4% for usual care (p = 0.97) 8.9 9.1 Hours Conclusions Among patients presenting to the hospital with acute chest pain, point of care troponin testing in the ambulance nonsignificantly reduced the time from first medical contact to final disposition in the emergency department Point of care testing Usual care group Presented by Dr. Justin Ezekowitz at AHA 2015
