2 Racism Today Racism is still existing in America today. Some examples are : Racism has changed over the years. We had our first black president in 2008. If someone is treated unfairly because of crimes committed by people of their race

3 Racism in To KILL A MOCKINGBIRD
Calpurnia takes Scout and Jem to her church. Scout and Jem were told to go home and stay with their own kind. They were judged strictly by their race and how the people at Cal's church felt about whites. The second situation dealt with Tom Robinson. Although it was clear that Tom did not rape Mayella, he was found to be guilty because he was black.

4 SEXISM Sexism prejudice or discrimination based on sex
Examples in the novel: Aunt Alexandra tried to change Scout The trial was all male and the children and females had to leave the courtroom while Bob Ewell is testifying

5 Sexism today Women can abort a child, and the father can say nothing about it. Child molesters are portrayed as men and are punished severely, but when female teachers have sexual affairs with little boys they get off with little to no real consequences.
