Figure 1 Composite map of all QTLs for cholesterol gallstone susceptibility experimentally determined in crosses between inbred mouse strains. Vertical bars represent chromosomes with the centromere at the top of each ideogram. Genetic distances are indicated in centimorgans (cM) to the left of each row of chromosomes. QTLs are indicated as colored or patterned bars to the right of the chromosomes. Orthologous human linkage peaks10 are indicated as asterisks with the cytogenic band indicated. Because of speciation break points, human cytogenetic bands may map to more than one mouse chromosome. The horizontal marks on each chromosome indicate the QTL peaks, and a bifurcation indicates coincident QTL peaks. The QTL bars represent the 95% confidence intervals where available; otherwise, bars represent QTL peak ± 10 cM regions of support. Details of QTLs are provided in Table 1 and (see Supplementary Tables 1 and 2 online at Gastroenterology , DOI: ( /j.gastro ) Copyright © 2006 AGA Institute Terms and Conditions
