Test Review Tuesday October 28 and Wednesday October 29
2
Engage Fold a sheet of paper in half and write a paragraph on what they have learned in 2.6 and 2.7. Some sentences should be about the parts of 2.6 and 2.7 which are most confusing and how prepared, on a scale from 0-5, you feel about the exam next class. (Indicate why you selected that specific score)

Learning Stations Activity
There are 8 activity stations. I will put you in groups of 2-3 and you will start at the station I assign to you. You will have 6 minutes at each station. Then, I will tell you when to move to the next station. You will move in numbered order of the stations. If you have any questions, work with your group members or raise your hand and I will come to your group. You may not talk with members of other groups.

Review of Stations Station 1: y=-|x-2|+3 Determine the following: A= -1 H= 2 K= 3 What is the vertex? (2, 3) What is the axis of symmetry? x=2 Station 2: y=2(x+1)2-3 Graph the equation. Station 3: y= ½ (x-4)2+1 Describe each of the transformations in the order they would occur from the parent function. Horizontal translation to the right 4 units Vertical compression by a factor of ½. Vertical translation up 1 unit
5
Review of Stations Station 4: Station 5: Station 6:
Graph the parent function and label the vertex and axis of symmetry in one color. Graph the given function and label the vertex and axis of symmetry in another color. y=-|x+2| Station 5: Let g(x) be the transformation of f(x). Write g(x) as a function of f(x). Then write the equation of g(x). f(x)=3x+2 translated down 4 units g(x)=f(x)-4 g(x)=3x-2 f(x)= x2-5 reflected across x-axis g(x)=-f(x) g(x)=- x2+5 Station 6: Graph the equation. f(x)=2|x-4|-1

Review of Stations Station 8:
Let g(x) be the transformation of f(x). Write g(x) as a function of f(x). Then write the equation of g(x). f(x)=|x+2| translated right 5 units g(x)=f(x-5) g(x)=|x-3| f(x)= x+2 Vertically compressed by a factor of 1/2 . g(x)= ½ f(x) g(x)= ½ x+1 Station 7: y=- (1/3)x2+4 Describe each of the transformations in the order they would occur from the parent function. Vertical Compression by a factor of 1/3. Reflection across the x-axis. Vertical translation up 4 units.

Evaluate Take out your sheet of paper from the beginning of class. On the second half of the folded sheet, write a paragraph about the review lesson from today. Things you may include: What did you improve on this lesson? Why? What did you learn more about today? How prepared, on a scale from 0-5, do you feel about the exam next class? Give reasons for your indicated number.
