How to Efficiently Complete a MT
2
Step One Obtain a rubric by:
Downloading it from learnsciencewithmrsg.weebly.com Save it on netbook/computer Print it from library/home computer Step One
3
Step Two Read the rubric. Re-read the rubric.
What is it asking you to learn? Underline terms you need to Google. Step Two
4
Step Three Plan evidence or project. What am I going to turn in?
What learning tools “fit” with this MT? How can I combine LT’s to make better use of my time? How could I combine LT’s to make a project out of this MT? How quickly do I want to complete this MT? What other evidence/projects do I also have to complete? Step Three
5
Step Four Set dates for completion of learning each LT.
Thinking of the evidence/project that you plan to complete, how much time will this take? Highlight these dates and write them in your calendar/phone. Remember your EOT date is a HARD DEADLINE. Your learning and evidence needs to be finished by this date. Step Four
6
Step Five Set learning goals for meeting your first LT date.
Consider time in class and time outside of class too. Use your rubric to underline/write notes about the LG’s you are going to finish each day. Step Five
7
Step Six What will work best for you? Stay ORGANIZED!!
Use your phone calendar or planning calendar. Examples of how students organize their supplies: A binder with tabs for each subject. A notebook for each subject. A file folder for each subject. All your notes, diagrams, labs, handouts for each subject needs to be in order by MT, clean, and organized. What will work best for you? Step Six
8
Step Seven Study, Study, Study!!!
Three to five nights before an EOT you need to review your notes, diagrams, labs, handouts for 30 minutes. The night before an EOT you need to have a partner ask you questions from your notes, diagrams, labs, handouts. Step Seven
9
Step Eight Turn in level 3 or 4 evidence.
Score 70% or higher on each LT. Move on to next MT. Go back to step one. Step Eight
10
What if I don’t score 70% or higher?
What if my level 3 or 4 evidence is not level 3? Meet with Mrs. Gonzales. Review version one of EOT. Go over questions. Make a plan to re-study and revise evidence. Take version two of EOT.
