Med-HIMS Consist of a regional programme of coordinated international migration surveys (single-round and cross-sectional). Aim of the project: provide information on the determinants and consequences of international migration and mobility. Started in 2008 in the EU financed MEDSTAT Programme and became a joint initiative (World Bank, UNFPA, UNHCR, ILO, IOM, LAS)

Manual 1: Model Questionnaires Manual 2: Survey Design and Organization Manual 3: Instruction to Supervisors Manual 4: Instruction to Interviewers Manual 5: Data Dictionary and Recode Specifications Manual 7: Guidelines for Data Tabulations and Analysis Main modules included into the each questionnaire (multi-topic, multi-level, retrospective and comparative): MQ1: Household Questionnaire MQ2: Individual Questionnaire for Out Migrant MQ3: Individual Questionnaire for Return Migrant MQ4: Individual Questionnaire for Non Migrant MQ5: Individual Questionnaire for Forced migrant MQ6: Household Socio-Economic and Environmental Characteristics MQ7: Community Characteristics Questionnaire (optional)

Med-HIMS Output data as evidence based information:
National Migration Profile; Development of migration policies; Design of successful action programmes; Identification of priority areas; Development of measures dealing with refugees and forced migration; Migration governance; Institutional partnership with the main receiving countries; Assessing effects; Etc.

Managing the Programme
International level: international representatives with Eurostat as chair. Programme Steering Committee (PSC) Project Implementation Unit (PIU) National level: planning, preparation and implementation managed by NSOs. National Project Steering Committee (NPSC) National project Implementation Unit (NPIU) Countries: Egypt, Jordan, Tunisia, Algeria, Morocco and Lebanon
