Objective: I can describe the relationship between gravitational force, mass, and distance. Starter: Calculate the time for a ball to reach its pinnacle and the height it will reach on the planet “Hickman” where g= -125m/s/s & Vi = 35m/s. Where is g greater than earth’s g?

Reference When just ONE mass is DOUBLED the Fg is…INCREASED by 2 TIMES (2X) When BOTH masses are DOUBLED the Fg is…INCREASED by 4 TIMES (4X))

Newton’s law of universal gravitation gives the relationship between gravitational force, mass, and distance. The gravitational constant (G) is the same everywhere in the universe (6.67 × N·m2/kg2).

Radius (r) Radius represents the distance between the two bodies of interest. (The distance is a radius because one of the masses (m1) is orbiting the other mass in a circle)
