Check for understanding is a reading comprehension strategy that teaches you to stop frequently and see if you are understanding what you are reading. Stop and ask yourself 2 questions-”Who is the story about?” and “What happened?” If you can easily answer the two questions, keep reading. If you cannot, you must go back and re-read.
