2. YMG Mission
To encourage and enable all young professional members to be actively involved in the efforts and endeavors of the Society at all levels
To simplify the transition from the role of a student to the role of a professional
To sponsor workshops and meetings that provide professional development and networking opportunities for young professionals
To collaborate with other Divisions and Groups in developing technical and non-technical content of particular interest to young professionals
To nominate young professionals for awards and leadership opportunities available to members.

Most of the growth of membership has been from students (278 more members since 2013) and Staff of Educational Institutions (262 more members)
Slight decline in membership from Utilities (31 less members), Manufacturers (28 less members) and Architecture and Construction (18 less members)
Graduate Students are now automatically members of YMG.
