Introduction Rwanda, as well as other countries of the world needs reliable statistics essential for good governance and planning for economic and social development of its people.

Data Quality To improve the quality and frequency of the collection and dissemination of administrative data in a timely way the National Institute of Statistics of Rwanda (NISR), in collaboration with Ministry of Local Government (MINALOC), Ministry of Health (MoH) and Ministry of education (MINEDUC) has been developing a web-based

Civil Registration and Vital Statistics (CRVS)
The web-based application has several benefits which include: connecting health facilities to the sectors through web interfaces, such that all births and death from these entities are registered and automatically transferred to the respective Sectors for confirmation. (85% of births , 40% of death, cases of marriage and 18 cases of divorce were registered .

Health Management Information System (HMIS)
Health Management Information System (HMIS) that provides information on all health aspects across the country. Through HMIS, the MOH collects technical data for epidemiological and other health related use. (It is estimated that over 90 percent of births in Rwanda take place in health facilities. 100 percent of the new-born are vaccinated immediately after birth whether it occurs at home or in a health facility. About 40 percent of deaths occur at health facilities.

Use of administrative data
Legal , Administrative, governmental purposes and Statistical uses for providing legal documents for identity Such information is valuable to the electoral system, identification system of the citizens. Planning for social development, including the design and implementation of public health measures, maternal and child care, family planning, social security, education, housing and economic development.

Challenges Lack of Capacity building
Lack of electricity: some places (like primary schools) are still not yet connected to electricity. Lack of internet or slow connectivity: due to the topography of the country. sensitization communities to declare civil status events focusing mostly on birth and marriage Strengthen the capacity of data managers / registrars To allocate adequate budget for registration activities and ensure timely procurement and supply of materials and forms.( electricity, comptuters , modems…)
