Odds Ratio Interpretation Confounder Diabetes
In diabetics the odds of being male are 1.28 times the odds of being male in non-diabetics amongst whites. Dr. Nicholas In males the odds of having diabetes are 1.28 times the odds in females amongst whites. The odds of having diabetes are 1.28 times as high in males relative to females amongst whites. In whites the odds of having diabetes are 28% higher in males than females. In whites the odds of being male are 28% higher in diabetics than in non-diabetics. In whites males are more likely than females to have diabetes.

In those with a high school education the odds of having diabetes are 0.52 times the odds in those without a high school education amongst whites. In whites the odds of having diabetes are 48% lower in those with a high school education relative to those without a high school education. In whites the odds of having diabetes are 48% higher in those without a high school education relative to those with a high school education.

For each year increase in age the odds of having diabetes increases by 4 percent. The odds of having diabetes increases with age. Over 10 years – do the odds increase by 40%?

In whites for each unit increase in BMI the odds of having diabetes increases by 10 percent. In whites the odds of having diabetes increases with increasing BMI. In whites for each unit increase in BMI the odds of developing diabetes increases by 10 percent.

The odds of being black are 29 percent higher in females than in males. The odds of being male are 29 percent lower in blacks than in whites. There are relatively more black women than white women.
