Reading Homework change for discussion questions!
1. Discussion Questions: The student will create 5 discussion questions that relate to the reading. Then they will answer 2 of their own discussion questions in full sentences. From Unit 2 on discussion questions must be addressing one of the AP historic thinking skills: a. Contextualization b. Comparison c. Causation d. Change and Continuity over time 2. Reading Response Journal: Students will write 3-4 paragraphs relating their reading homework to some form of previous knowledge. That previous knowledge can include personal experiences, historical examples, content from AP World History or another class, and current events. 3. Note Taking/Outlining of Reading: In a more conventional sense, students may take notes that highlight main ideas and terms from the reading. They may also outline the reading to show major ideas, terms, people and places. 4. Graphic Organizer/Visual Representation: Students will create a set (at least 3) of graphic organizers or visual representations of the material that they read. Graphic organizers include Venn Diagrams, T-Charts, Cloud Charts, Timeline, Cycle Charts, and Cause and Effect Charts. The assignment is not limited to these examples. 5. Create a Song or a Rap: Students will create a song or rap about the reading that they were assigned. The student will not be required to perform the song or rap. They will be graded on how the song or rap represents the material from the reading assigned.
