Users can search for materials with specific properties in mind. For example, in this search for flywheel material, tensile strength is an important factor in determining energy per unit weight Material selection – in this example, the search is for flywheel material where tensile strength is an important factor in determining energy per unit weight. A simple search for “tensile strength” and titanium, provides a range of results – both text and interactive – that help the engineer make material selection decisions.
