6. 13 Colonies invade Canada
The Continental Congress (13 Colonies) approved a full- scale invasion of Canada in 1775
Loyalists (People who were loyal to Britain) immigrated to Canada
Americans wanted to prevent Britain from using Canada as a base for strikes against the 13 Colonies
In September 1775, the Americans attacked Montreal and Quebec City

7. 1776: The Americans withdrew from Canada completely on July 2
2 days later the Continental Congress issued a Declaration of Independence.
