Splitting a short story into five sections and asking questions is a way for you to plan. Read the sample sheet and then write your plan again. This time add:

Climax
Falling action
Resolution
And follow the 13 instructions to
write your descriptive essay

Establish the setting
Describe setting
Describe the situation

What problem does the character (s) face?
What problem is trying to be solved?
What tense moment is taking place?
Climax (ideas):
Describe the crucial moment in the story
What has brought the character(s) to this point in the story?

How is the crucial moment solved?
How is the tension eased?
What is happening to the character(s) after the crucial moment?
Resolution:
Describe how the story comes to a suitable end.
