Month 2002 doc.: IEEE /0631r0 July 2003 Setup Goal was to confirm / refute results of Nir Tal (Metalink)– document htsg Signal generator and spectrum analyzer used Tested at 5.16GHz Output power +10dBm 5GHz omni antenna on Tx, directional horn on Rx Spectrum analyzer sweep = 1/120Hz per box (in US) No additional amplifiers used Figures taken when “florescent effect” was maximized - bounced off of ceiling lights and circular tube desk light Effect was not as dominant unless searched for Also seen with two omni antennas Gilbert et. al., Atheros Gilbert et. al., Atheros

Conclusion Effect was present when florescent light was in path
Month 2002 doc.: IEEE /0631r0 July 2003 Conclusion Effect was present when florescent light was in path Directional antenna allowed pinpointing to lights Effect was not present when light was not in path Waveform vs. time was not simple sinusoid esp. for circular light – varied by angle Effect also seen with two omni antennas More experiments needed to characterize: Degree of effect Frequency sensitivity Waveform shape and determine if it has to be incorporated into model Gilbert et. al., Atheros Gilbert et. al., Atheros
