1 “The Faith of the Samaritan Woman”
(John 4)

2 Let us consider this account with the Samaritan woman today…
Specifically, let us note how her faith began, how it grew, what it did for her, and what her faith did for others. In doing that, let's see what kind of lessons for which we can learn and apply to our lives, even today.

3 Jesus’ reasons for leaving Judea Mt. 4:12; Mk. 1:14; Lk. 4:14; Jn
Two things happened that made Jesus decide to leave Judea. One was that the Pharisees learned Jesus was making and baptizing more disciples and John. (Jesus himself did not baptize, but his disciples did.) Also, John's imprisonment occurred about the same time. When Jesus heard of these things he decided to go back to Galilee. He also decided to go straight north through Samaria.

12 Conclusion

13 Conclusion We need to learn Who Jesus really is in order to have proper faith. Christ had a sense of purpose in going to Jacob’s well, knowing He would have opportunity to engage with this woman. Seek opportunity to tell others about what Jesus really offers! Talk to those in whom others (maybe even our brethren) will not speak to! Realize the need to deal with sin! (And address it!) The fields are ready for harvest! Faith can be instilled by learning from others, but there comes a point where we must get to know Jesus ourselves. (Through prayer and study of His Word)
