Trade Development Authority of Pakistan
TDAP was established on November 8, 2006. Ministry of Commerce is the administrative ministry of TDAP. TDAP is the premier Trade and Export Promotional organization of the country. TDAP is a dedicated, effective and an empowered organization, which is professionally managed.

TDAP’s Activities…. Participates in 60 to 80 international TRADE EXHIBITIONS annually. (Share of participation between 70:30% 70% on the basis of level of certified exports and 30% are SMEs and women entrepreneurs) Send 20 to 40 TRADE DELEGATIONS abroad every year. Organizes the EXPO PAKISTAN/ TEXPO PAKISTAN annually in Pakistan, which is well-attended by foreign buyers. (Same Ratio) Runs the EXPO CENTRE, Karachi providing a permanent exhibition space for holding trade events for almost SMEs. Implements various TRADE POLICY INITIATIVES announced by the Commerce Ministry for the SMEs. Undertakes various sector-development PROJECTS from the Export Development Fund. (SMEs are the main beneficiaries)

Objectives of TDAP for Participation in International Trade Exhibitions/Trade Delegations Abroad…
To maximize exports and market shares with the help of experienced exporters. To promote new & medium to small size exporters (SMEX) in different world markets. To increase geographical spread in developed and non-developed countries, of our exports in the core and developmental categories. (SMEs are included) To support maximization of Pakistan's exports in regional trade blocks. (Mainly SMEs) To encourage women entrepreneurship. To project a correct, modern & enterprising image of Pakistan as an exporting country.

Types of Exhibition Organized by TDAP…
There will be three types of participation: MANAGED FAIRS: Organized and funded by TDAP, with participation fee depending on the nature of fair. (70:30% Ratio) ALLOCATED FAIRS: Organized by selected Trade Bodies with partial funding by TDAP. (SMEs are main beneficiaries) c. FREE CHOICE FAIRS: Chosen and organized by selected Trade Bodies at their own expense. (TDAP only provide way forward in chosen market)

Criteria for Selection of Participants/Delegates…
70% exhibitors will be selected on the basis of level of certified exports as an average of the last 3 years in descending order. 15% of participants will be from amongst small & medium exporters (SMEX). They will be selected on the basis of the rate of compound growth per annum based on a maximum for last 3 years exports. 15% of participants will be new exporters and women entrepreneurs where preference will be given to manufacturing exporters.

Financial Support to SMEs by TDAP for Delegation
Subsidy for Trade Delegations – ALL TYPES (EXCEPT THE FREE CHOICE DELEGATIONS) 50% of the return economy airfare on the shortest route to and from the destination and US$ 100 per day per delegate for the approved duration.

Terms & Conditions for Participation in International Events…
No exporter will be eligible for TDAP's support in excess of 2 fairs/events in a year and in case of exhibition five time participation in the same event. In case of Exhibition, selected companies will have to submit Security Deposit in shape of Pay Order/Bank Draft of amounting Rs.50,000/-(refundable), while in case of delegation the selected delegate will have to submit Rs.25,000/-(refundable). In case of Exhibition, TDAP will issue visa recommendation letters to only (2) two representatives of each selected company, while in case of delegation TDAP will issue visa recommendation letter to only one representative of the company. Once an applicant’s selection is confirmed the participation fee shall not be refunded in case of exhibition. After selection by TDAP in exhibition, if the stand remains vacant, full cost of stand as determined by TDAP shall be charged.

Terms & Conditions for Participation in International Events…
Every selected exhibitor will declare the exact value of the exhibits. The selected company/delegate must have appropriate product range and production capacity, acceptable level of quality control to support emerging export opportunities. There is a special quota for women entrepreneurs, new exporters and SME’s. Subsidy will be applicable on all events except the Free Choice Exhibition/ Delegations. In case of exhibition, advertisement of each event will be released six months before the date of the event. Within 15 days of the conclusion of the visit, the Team Leader/Company shall provide to TDAP a Visit Report.
