ALARIS: AIR IN LINE ALARM
Practice Update Clinical Practice Council Nurses: Please Review Duke University Hospital ALARIS: AIR IN LINE ALARM Alaris pumps 8100 (brain) AIR IN LINE alarms may occur when no air is noted in tubing. IF this happens: CHECK FOR AIR IN LINE. If there is air in the line, clear it by pressing the RESTART key to advance the air bubble past the sensor and evaluate if clinically significant IF you see no air in line and the tubing is in correct alignment AND the pump continues to alarm air in line, obtain a new infusion pump and SEQUESTER the pump and send to Clinical Engineering. Keep TUBING Also remember to KEEP your PUMPS Plugged into an electronic outlet except When traveling!
