2. Multiplication of Integers
The product of two numbers having the same sign is positive.
Example: 9(3) = 27
-4(-3) = 12

The product of two numbers having different signs is negative.
Example: -12(2) = -24

The product of any number and -1 is its additive inverse.
Example: (-1)(4) = -4
(-1)(-5) = 5

5. Evaluate Expressions -3(x2) if x = -2 = -3(-2)2 = -3 (4) = -12
ab – 3 if a = -2 and b = 3
-2(3) – 3
-6 – 3 = -6 + (-3) = -9

6(-2x) – 14x
= -12x – 14x
= -12x + (-14x)
= -26x
