7 What are the available options to develop a sustainable dining services program?
What are the impacts if the dining services program cannot become self-sustainable? What are the long-term implications if Cedar Lane Senior Living Community does not offer a dining services program? What are the options for continuing a nutritional meal program for assisted living residents? Discussion

8 Partner with College of Southern Maryland Culinary Program
Identify alternate source of meals Designate the community as a Nutrition Site Reduce the meal variety options vs. open menu Adopt a buffet style service vs. tableside service Opportunities

9 Decision Convert the community to an independent living only community
Reduce the dining service to a single meal option (Lunch) Reduce dining services to M-F Decision This option allowed for an affordable dining services option to continue for those residents seeking a nutritious meal in a social setting.

10 Proposed Menu Solution
Before After

11 Connection The Cedar Lane Staff, Board Food Committee and the LSM Project Team were all considering similar solutions, whether this validates the decision going forward is to be seen. This does mean that the LSM Project Team did bring forward a concept that was agreeable and executable by Cedar Lane Senior Living Community meeting the expectations of the project.
