1. Resizing and adding borders in PSE
Adding a border
Open your image in
EDITOR
After having completed changes you want
It should appear as a screen similar to the one on the left
On the menu bar
SELECT
The DROP DOWN MENU from IMAGE
Shown as

2. Select RESIZE Select CANVAS SIZE In the dialogue box
Add the size of the border
(this can be in cm, mm, inches or pixels or as %)
I have chosen CM and added the value 0.2
MAKE SURE the box beneath (RELATIVE) is TICKED
Select from the drop down menu the COLOUR you want for the border

3. Your jpeg image will now have a border in white
Then go to SAVE AS and save the new file

4. Resizing With your new jpeg in the EDITOR screen SELECT – IMAGE
From the DROP DOWN menu
SELECT – RESIZE
From options
SELECT – IMAGE SIZE

5. Resizing – a dialogue box will appear
Fill in the HIGHLIGHTED BOX
With your NEW PIXEL Width
(this is likely to be 1400 or 1050 depending on whether your image is
PORTRAIT (1050) or
LANDSCAPE (1400)
Make sure the boxes below are TICKED
Especially the CONSTRAIN PROPORTIONS

6. SAVE AS and save your image with a new name
Your image is now resized
And suitable for entering in COMPETITION
DON’T FORGET to go to
SAVE AS and save your image with a new name
