10.2 Caves Chemical weathering of limestone by water causes characteristic topography of karst areas. AKA Water dissolves limestone leaving oddly shaped land and caves.

Karst Topography Sinkhole- A depression in the ground caused by collapse of a cave or by dissolution of limestone. Karst Topography-regions that have sink holes and disappearing streams

Hard water Tap water contains various dissolved solids; Iron, calcium, magnesium. Hard water in households can often cause problems Just as calcite precipitates in caves, it can also precipitate in water pipes.
