Modified Colonial Jigsaw
For the next 3-4 days, you will be working in partners to become an expert about the 3 colonial regions New England, Middle, Southern The partner you have chosen is your home partner. You will start and end with this partner. Each of you will be responsible to the other for complete, thorough work. You will researching the 3 regions with your expert partner. These are people from other home partnerships that are responsible for the same information you are. I have chosen these partners so you can have the ability to work with two different people.

Colonial Podcasts At the end of each day, we will take about 10 minutes to watch a podcast over the colonies you and your partner were reading about. This will give you a chance to: Check your information Review what you have learned Hear and visualize the information you read These podcasts will also be linked to my website so you can review and study further

Home Group Teaching When you have completed the chart with your expert partner, you will compare/reteach your information to your home partner Please be sure that you are explaining the information to them NO COPYING of charts will be allowed Make sure to speak clearly and slowly Some ways to start off might be: “I found that the main religion in Massachusetts was…” “The type of government they had was…” “The reasons for settling Massachusetts were…” If you finish early, let me know, and you make work on any remaining assignments.

Jumpstart – 10/5/16 Open your spiral to page 25, TIP Vocabulary from yesterday. Get out your Fundamental Orders of Connecticut papers from yesterday that we began with the predictions. With a partner in class, quiz each other on the definitions of the 5 terms from yesterday. DO NOT ALLOW YOUR PARTNER TO LOOK AT THEIR TIP CHART WHILE YOU ARE QUIZZING THEM!
