Students will:
divide squares, rectangles, triangles, trapezoids, parallelograms, and rhombuses
Identify the smaller shapes into which these shapes can be divided

Paper Shapes (3-4 per student)
Recording Sheets (6 per group) s

4. Chart the Parts
Each person in the group will choose a shape. You will need 4 copies of the shape you choose.

5. Chart the Parts
Paste an uncut shape in the top left corner of the large white paper.
Fold one of the shapes in any direction – horizontally, vertically, diagonally.
Cut on the fold line to make two other shapes.
Paste the two new shapes under the first.
Repeat with the other two shapes.
