14 CMV virus often causes no symptoms - can harm those with other health complications passed through direct contact with body fluids such as urine, mucus, or saliva handwashing is the best preventative tool keep classroom materials CLEAN daily

15 STAPH INFECTIONS Infections to the skin, including MRSA, require caution. Follow school health protocol for safety - examine without touching. Isolate the student while seeking additional input from the office or nurse. In most cases, the student would be sent home and require doctor clearance to return. Areas of red, irritated or painful skin lesions, bumps that may have pus. May have a fever.

16 STAFF HEALTH Keep in mind that staff are held to the same standards as students in regards to bloodborne pathogens, infections, and illness.

18 Protecting Yourself From Exposure
Make sure you ask the WCSEA office for an emergency BBP kit to have in your classroom or office. Use gloves! Let the WCSEA office know when you need more. Protect yourself and do not touch blood or bodily fluids directly.

19 Protecting Yourself From Exposure
Work with your local district to follow their BBP guidelines, including custodial staff and nurses. Report any BBP exposure to your supervisor immediately.
