WHAT ARE SEXUALLY TRANSMITTED DISEASES?
A conscious decision not to participate in sexual activity and the skills to support that decision. Teen relationships should focus on emotional intimacy, not sexual intimacy. WHAT ARE SEXUALLY TRANSMITTED DISEASES? An infectious disease that is spread by sexual contact.

God’s Plan for Sex: God created sex, and it's wonderful.
God gave us operating instructions for sex (in the Bible). Only the abuse of sex (fornication, adultery, porn) is wrong. Following God's law brings joy. Disobeying God's law brings unhappiness and problems for ourselves and society. God has given us many ways to express our sexuality genitally (in marriage) and non-genitally (outside of marriage).

Waiting until marriage will decrease the number of sexual partners you have in your lifetime Decrease your risk of becoming infected with a sexually transmitted disease. Do not risk becoming pregnant or becoming infected with a sexually transmitted disease. The younger you are when you become sexually active , the more sexual partners you are likely to have.

The freedom to pursue a variety of friendships Less complicated relationships The ability to focus on interpersonal aspects of relationships Better relationships with parents and other trusted adults Better reputation among peers Avoiding being manipulated or used by others

Allowing time to develop the maturity needed to make important decisions Staying true to your personal values, such as respect, honesty, and morality Having an increased sense of self-control and self respect Being free from worry and stress about sexually transmitted diseases and pregnancy
