What is ADHD? The human brain has a complex system of networking with billions of nerve cells that send out messages to each other. These messages are carried via the synapses, which are tiny spaces between nerve cells, by neurotransmitters. The neuro transmitters are Dopamine and Noradrenaline. They are needed to facilitate an effective transfer of messages across the nerve cells. (c) Liverpool ADHD Foundation 2009

What is ADHD? People with ADHD have a chemical imbalance caused by deficiency in the neurotransmission of dopamine and noradrenaline within the synapses. This leads to problems with inattention, impulsivity, hyperactivity and with Executive functioning. (c) Liverpool ADHD Foundation 2009
