The Earth system involves a constant flow or cycling of of matter through different parts.

4. ENERGY = ABILITY TO DO WORK
THE CONSTANT CYCLING OF MATTER THROUGH THE EARTH SYSTEM IS DRIVEN BY ENERGY.
