FBI Academic Biosecurity Workshop

Martin Professional Development Center 2400 Fairfax Avenue Nashville, TN Workshop Goal: Improve cooperation among law enforcement agencies and research institutions to mitigate potential biosecurity issues that may affect public health and safety. Objectives: Identify biosecurity roles and responsibilities of law enforcement agencies Identify biosecurity roles and responsibilities of research institutions Identify benefits and potential obstacles to improve cooperation among law enforcement agencies and research institutions regarding biosecurity Identify methods of improving communications among biosecurity stakeholders Target Audience VP of Research Responsible Officials Biosafety Officials Environmental Health and Safety Officers Primary Investigators/research directors Laboratory supervisors/managers Postgraduates, graduates, and undergraduate students Campus police departments State and local police departments Emergency/Fire responders (to include Hazmat) State/local public health Office of Emergency Management Institution Human Resource Department Institution Cyber/IT Department Institution Office of General Counsel (Legal) Public Information Officers Agenda Introduction-Welcoming Remarks (15 minutes) Biosecurity Overview Presentation (90 minutes) Break (15 minutes) Table Top Exercise (Breakout group discussions – 90 minutes) Register at: Confirmation and parking information will be sent by following registration.
