He’s supposed to deal with other countries
He thinks the states should have more power.

Hamilton’s Financial Plan
Hamilton thought the USA should “assume,” or take on the debt of all the states.
This was money the states still owed from the Revolution.
Washington made it happen.

Hamilton: wanted USA to stay on the good side of Britain. This was good for US business, because the USA traded a lot with Britain.
USA should stay out of war between Britain and France!

USA should aid France in its war with Britain!
Washington sides with Hamilton and decides the US will stay out of the war!

Farmers got mad when US government raised taxes to help pay Revolutionary War debts.
Washington says taxes must be paid.
He personally leads an army to put down the rebellion.

He warned the country about two things:
