As with all matters of the heart, you'll know when you find it. And like any great relationship, it just gets better and better as the years roll on. So keep looking, don't settle….

5. Types of Management Careers
What kinds of businesses need managers?
For-Profit=businesses that operate to earn money for their owners
Name some examples:
Nonprofit=operates to promote a special interest or cause
ALL need managers!

6. Applying for a Job
Key is to SELL YOURSELF. Many others want the same position. What makes you most appealing?
Build a resume:
Chronological=lists education and work experience in reverse order ex: pg 70
Skills=highlights your accomplishments and abilities ex: pg 71

Writing a cover letter:
Purpose: introduce yourself and convince them to interview you

Why do you think the federal government passed laws to make it illegal for employers to ask about age, sex, race, political preferences, etc.?
None of these factors have anything to do with how well a person can do a job
