Cascais Quinta dos Lombos and Quinta de S. Gonçalo neighborhood in Carcavelos parish 2500 citizens 1500 apartments 88 underground bins for household waste and recycled waste (three fluxes: paper, plastic/metal and glass) reading “chips” (RFID) that identify the user through a card and communicate with each other over a wireless network. Access to the containers will be associated with VAT number of each user An overview of the pilot including the description of the current management system, the geographical area limited for the deployment (inhabitants incolved, containers…) and the specific objectives. Max 3 slide and 4 minute!

Cascais The PAYT systems implementation tends to be an expensive initiative. Our waste management model only allows for collective collection. Cascais already has a very innovative waste management system, which makes it impossible to withstand the financial and technical changes that an individual system will bring. Therefore, the best solution will be to adapt the current waste management system to a collective PAYT model in order to take advantage of our innovative technology and avoid an increase in costs that we are not prepared to support. An overview of the pilot including the description of the current management system, the geographical area limited for the deployment (inhabitants incolved, containers…) and the specific objectives. Max 3 slide and 4 minute!

Cascais Results of the baseline & surveys
Surveys are still on hold due to definition of project start. Part of continuous interaction and communication with the public Baseline assessments prove a slight increase of recycling rate as there are less materials in household waste and an increase of recycling production. Proximity of waste bins? The survey will help to understand Use the main significant results available in the tables and the cartographic information included in D1.3 (and D1.4-Section 3 Baseline updates for those KPIs which were updated later in this deliverable because the data were not correct or due to lack of information). Explain also the results of the surveys. Only 1 slide and 1 minute!

Cascais The strategies for communication will be centered in:
Environmental Programme The strategies for communication will be centered in: Citizens – direct contact with brochures, online information and participation games Children – school activities based on our environmental awareness program and W4T applications Tourists – direct contact with them and their landlords List the strategies and the social actions, including objective, target groups, and chronogramme Remark those actions which use the eco-solutions of the proyect Around 2 slides, max3min!

Cascais 1 point given to a daily use, despite the number of usages
Progress & achievements – 1st Period 1 point given to a daily use, despite the number of usages 5 points if you use 80% of days in a given month 10 points if recycling rates have improved from baseline Explain the Social Actions carried out and show the main results (with evidences like videos or pictures) Include results of the monitoring (available for D1.4) in the case of Seveso and Halandri. In Zamudio and Cascais, explain that no major changes in the management systems have been carried out so no impact is still expected in terms of the KPIs. Max. 2 slides and 6minutes!

Cascais Progress & achievements – 1st Period Bag Acquisition
20.000€ year Introducing RUB (organic waste) bags to further the recycling potential within the household waste Families are given bags for organic waste Waste is placed on household bins with duly closed and identifiable bags At treatment, bags are sorted from household waste for appropriate treatment Savings 38.000€ year Production expectancy Explain the Social Actions carried out and show the main results (with evidences like videos or pictures) Include results of the monitoring (available for D1.4) in the case of Seveso and Halandri. In Zamudio and Cascais, explain that no major changes in the management systems have been carried out so no impact is still expected in terms of the KPIs. Max. 2 slides and 6minutes!
