2. What is a Map?
Maps and globes are important tools which are used to show information about the earth.
Persons who make maps are call cartographers. The main objective of a map is to show the different landmasses, bodies of water and other helpful information.
Nevertheless, maps ,and globes are totally different in shape.
Maps are flat 2 dimensional replicas of the earth ,while globes are 3 dimensional, they are round models of the earth.

3. Directions
Directions are meant to guide us. On mostly all maps there are points facing: North, south, east, and west. Directions are located using an apparatus called a compass.
A compass shows you where you are going.
A compass works with the earth’s magnetic field to point in the direction of north
A compass on a map shows sixteen points in total.
Cardinal points contain : North, South, East, and West.
Intermediate points contain: Northeast, Southeast, Southwest, Northwest.
Sixteen -point compass contains: North North east, East North east, East South east, South South east, South South west, West South west, West North west, North North east.

7. Bearings Each point on a compass has a bearing.
Bearings are used to provide an exact location a place.
They are measured in degrees

How to play the game:
When the question slide comes up it will bring up the questions and answer choices. Click on the answer students choose. It will ask if this is your final answer. If you click on yes, the answer will be revealed. If you click on no, it will laugh.
Lifelines:
There are 3 lifelines: phone a friend, poll the audience, and 50 / 50. Depending how you have your game setup with your students you can play these different ways. If you click on the icon for one of these 3 it will take you to a new slide. Phone a friend could be they can ask one person to help them. With Poll the audience, have the class to vote on the answer. 50 / 50 the teacher can tell them which 2 are not answers. Click on the U shaped arrow and it will return you to the question.
