8. 1. Truth is absolute.
John 8: Jesus said, “If you abide in My word, then you are truly disciples of Mine; and you shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free.”
There is an objective standard of truth.
2 Timothy 2:15 “Be diligent to present yourself approved to God as a workman who does not need to be ashamed, accurately handling the word of truth.”

9. 2. God’s truth is above man’s truth.
1 Corinthians 1: “For the word of the cross is foolishness to those who are perishing, but to us who are being saved it is the power of God.”
Acts 5:29 Peter and the other apostles said, “We must obey God rather than men.”
Isaiah 55:9 God said, “For as the heavens are higher than the earth, so are My ways higher than your ways, and My thought than your thoughts.”

John 8:44 Jesus said about Satan, “There is no truth in him. Whenever he speaks a lie, he speaks from his own nature; for he is a liar, and the father of lies.”
2 Timothy 2:18 “Men who have gone astray from the truth and thus they upset the faith of some.”
2 Peter 2:1-3 There will be false teachers among you who will attack and disparage the truth.

12. 5. God’s truth can be painful.
Hebrews 4: “For the word of God is living and active and sharper than any two-edged sword.”
Truth is truth whether you like it or not. God’s truth can reveal things in your life that should not be there.
The fact that there is truth means that you are accountable to live according to that truth.

John 1:14 Jesus “the Word became flesh, and dwelt among us,” and He was “full of grace and truth.”
John 1:17 “Grace and truth came through Jesus Christ.”
John 14:6 “I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through Me.”
1 Timothy 2:4 God “desires all men to be saved and to come to the knowledge of the truth.”

Romans 1: Must take stand against what is wrong.
Ephesians 4:25 “Let each one of you speak the truth with his neighbor, for we are members one of another.”
Ezekiel 3:18 God said, “When I say to the wicked, ‘You shall surely die’; and you do not warn him or speak out to warn the wicked from his wicked way that he may live, that wicked man shall die in his iniquity, but his blood I will require at your hand.”

16. We need to let people know there is absolute truth.
It comes from God, and we are all accountable to that truth.
God’s way is not only the right way; it is the best way.
