trans-IDSs and cis-IDSs from six land plants and one green alga were retrieved from JGI's Phytozome Plant Genomics Portal ( Their protein sequences are listed in Supplemental Table 1.
(A) trans-IDSs fall into five subfamilies (a–e) corresponding to the different catalytic functions.
(B) cis-IDSs fall into four subfamilies (a–d) corresponding to the different catalytic functions.
