Tips for Implementation ( Intermediate stage - Grades 6 & 7)
1- Start the first three days of the second semester with R.W.A. program. (Adjustment Period) 2- Divide the class into homogenous groups. 3- Devote one of the double periods to tackle the R.W.A. 4- Start with level one, you can select the appropriate activities from each area according to the students’ level. 5- Follow the same order in the index to move from an area to another. 6- Allow students to do the tasks individually to give the teacher clear feedback about the student’s improvement. 7- Always give your students useful feedback about their work. 8- Some of the exercises could be given as homework. 9- You can use some of the activities whenever they agree with the targeted S.C 10- All the work should be kept in a file or a notebook. Heads of department are asked to;
H.O.D’s Role Heads of department are asked to; 1- hand out a copy of R.W.A to every teacher. 2- hold a meeting with the staff members to discuss the remedial writing activities with them. ( how and when to be implemented) 3- check the daily lesson plan to make sure the teachers are on the right track 4- visit all the classes on the first three days ( grades 3,4 and 5) / (grades 6 & 7) to follow the application of the program. 5- Follow the implementation of the program during your regular visits. 6- Follow the students’ progress specially the low achievers. The supervisors are going to check teachers’ written preparation and students’ work while visiting the school.
