Types of Membership Centres 1. NADC Tertiary Diabetes Centres A specialist Diabetologist with expertise in diabetes care who is responsible for the clinical management functions of the Diabetes Centre.
Diabetologist must attend the Diabetes Centre for a minimum of 1 session a week and also be actively involved in team meetings and/or quality assurance activities relating to the Service.
A full‐time or equivalent Registered Nurse Credentialled Diabetes Educator who is a member of the ADEA.  
An Accredited Practising Dietitian working a minimum of two sessions a week activities relating to the Service.

7. Monitor their outcomes through participation in ANDA.
Types of Membership Centres 2. NADC Diabetes Care Centres A full‐time or equivalent Registered Nurse Credentialled Diabetes Educator who is a member of the ADEA.

9. Accreditation  The NADC has an accreditation system for NADC member centres. The aim is to support NADC Centres of Excellence, Tertiary Diabetes & Care Centres as proven Centres of Excellence in diabetes care. This is an important part of the process of demonstrating to the Commonwealth and State Health authorities that NADC Diabetes Centres offer high standard multidisciplinary care Centres of Excellence: ? 10. How is NADC Funded? The Australian Diabetes Society (ADS) are responsible for the operations of the NADC.
As the NADC has no specific funding they mainly rely on grants and sponsorships, and subscriptions from members, as well as direct support from ADS.

11. The Key NADC Activities:   Australian National Diabetes Audit (ANDA) formerly ANDIAB The Australian National Diabetes Audit (ANDA) formerly ANDIAB has been a key NADC project that relies on member centres collecting clinical data on a biennial basis. AQSMA (Australian Quality Self Management Audit) formerly ANDIAB2, collects data specifically related to diabetes education and self-care on a biennial basis. Site reports are provided to enable participating centres to benchmark their own data against that of others and with the NHMRC guidelines. These are important quality assurance activities which promote continuous improvement in the standard of service provided by Diabetes Centres. In 2015 over 50 Centres participated

The Key NADC Activities:   Best Practice in Diabetes Centres (BPDC) The Best Practice in Diabetes Centres Meetings has been an integral educational/policy/service provision forum for NADC members. There have been 6 meetings in Sydney starting in The meeting is by invitation and requires NADC membership to be eligible to attend. These meetings are an interactive forum intended to canvass/discuss issues important to Diabetes Centres/Services . Next meeting planned for Oct 2015

The Key NADC Activities:   Diabetes Management in the General Care Setting: A National Training Program for Nurses and Allied Health Professionals This Training Program has recently been updated The program is aimed at registered and enrolled nurses, allied health staff, and other staff from other generalist hospital, community, nursing home, and other care facilities including drug and alcohol and respite care services. The training provides a standardised basic diabetes training program containing introductory information about diabetes and its management. More information and applications forms

18. Current NADC Projects   Diabetes Database The NADC data base sub-committee appointed BioGrid, an IT company to implement a clinical database for use by NADC Centres Centres successfully received 1year financial support Centres are in the process of implementation

19. Current NADC Projects   Joslin Hypo App Met the Joslin Diabetes Center team in Boston after ADA Review of their HypoMap project that has 2 components: 1. Online hypoglycaemia education 2. Link to Glooko platform for glucose data collections 5 Centres successful in their submission and application sent to Helmsley Charitable Trust
